A professional clarinetist for 30 years, Lorne discovered Argentine Tango on a trip to Buenos Aires and was immediately hooked. He began studying with Judy Knee in St. John’s NL; 3 years later he met Halifax tango teacher Margaret Spore, and followed her invitation to a weekend workshop of master teacher Tomas Howlin (Montreal/Argentina) in Halifax. It was there that he met his dream partner Martina, who had just started dancing tango. Together they have traveled to festivals in Toronto and Germany, taken classes with internationally renowned teachers including Brigitta Winkler and Sebastian Arce. Tango is Lorne’s and Martina’s passion which they share through their approach as community teachers, emphasizing musicality and communication between partners.
